Wildcard Heaven with the Deuces Wild Video Poker Game
Unlike the traditional variants of the game that I had become used to over time, I found that the Deuces Wild video poker game from RTG software was a breath of fresh air. Instead of playing through a standard deck to attempt to build the best hand possible, all of the twos substitute as wild cards! This sounded amazing to me at first and I couldn't wait to play, but I quickly learned that the pay scale had been adjusted substantially in order to make up for the increased player advantage. It's still a fun title, though, and there is a fun free demo with absolutely no download or registration required right here on this page.Upon sitting down to get started with Deuces Wild, the first thing I noted was that payouts didn't start at Jacks or Better as I was used to; in fact, there are no payouts for pairs here at all. The minimum possible combination is a three of a kind, and while I was disheartened at first, I quickly learned that the wildcards turned the odds around. I played through a few hands without winning anything at first, but I was quickly able to recoup those losses with a four of a kind thanks to two Aces and two 2s! Since I was betting two coins per hand, I was rewarded with eight. I did keep trying to get the lucrative hand of four deuces and, while I came close a few times, I never got it - though the four of a kind was a given each time.
